Here are some of the projects shared at July’s sewing forum.  Details and comments about each project are below.

  • Nancy made this quilt top from Atkinson Designs – Life’s Simple Pleasures using retro printed cottons.
  • Dorothy made this top using Burda pattern 6632.  She ended up making a size 8 even though her measurements suggested a size 12.  When Dorothy checked the finished size measurements, the size 12 would have been HUGE!
  • Freda dug this jacket (a project she had made years ago) out of her closet in memory of .  Note the mini polka dots on the roll back cuffs showing the back of the fabric!
  • Freda demonstrated how to finish a sheer top without facings.  Made a double top that attaches around the neckline and armholes!
  • Kathleen had ordered this matching silk chiffon and silk crepe de chine on line to make the Saiph Tunic from Papercut Patterns.
  • This member wanted to get back into sewing so made this purse for her iphone from her own design.
  • She also made this matching travel bag from her own design.
  • Mike, who only started sewing this year, showed off his “Chinese” shirt.
